Canveys injury ravaged side travelled to Beccles even more depleted due to the loss of prop L Brumwell & hooker D Smith due to work commitments & center K Cooper with a recurring knee injury.
Coming into the side was center J Buckfield back after a long lay off, with veteran prop A Coe as a front row replacement and flanker B Smith moving to take over hooking responsibilities.
Despite this the game was a fairly even affair both sides making it end to end rugby. Beccles scored an unconverted try due to a mistake from Canvey. Unfortunately Canvey missed two penalty chances in the first half and turned round 5 - 0 down.
The second half was pretty much the same and after a period of pressure Beccles again scored an unconverted try to win the match 10-0. Despite the loss Canveys skipper A Breading himself a victim of a long term injury said 'the boys did not give up today and I'm sure things will come right sooner rather than later'.
