2nd Team Match Report - 6th September 2008
Score: 3 - 32
Second friendly game of the season and the stacks have come away again with another defeat after losing the week before to Sidcup 2nd team 40-3.
But these are only friendly games with the merit table game staring next week with a away game at Wanstead.
Also it's worth mentioning that with ref's having there own interpretations of the new rugby laws it's taking the stacks a little time to sink in.
S.W.F 2nd team came down and started of the game with some very quick and explosive rugby, but the stacks held there own in defence and for the first 25 mins held S.W.F forwards off, but it was only a matter of time before S.W.F broke through.
On the stacks defence, time after time they were penalised with the new laws coming in which left most of the boys scratching there heads, but like I said it's nice to have these friendly games to iron out all these new laws.
First half score 12-0
2nd half was much the same, but the stacks heads would not go down and carried on fighting to the end which saw a penalty kick go over by Gary Desmond to bring the final score to 32-3.
There was no man of the match but if I had to pick any body I would have to put stavous up with the man of the match award as he is only 17 having played 2 full games for the stacks at tight head prop, and is getting stronger by the week.
Captains view: not bothered about the results from any of the 2 friendly rugby games the stacks had played, more interested in getting the new laws sorted out in our heads for our first merit game next week at Wanstead, well done boys
