Under 13's Match Report - 21st September 2008

On a wounderfull sunny day we all arrived at South Woodham, the boys started very well this week, straight in with the action, a lot of hard tackling and driving and every one pulling there weight.
After approx 20 mins Jack Swann got away and he was never going to be caught putting the ball down between the posts. JackEvans put the resulting kick straight between the posts. Woodham had the ball for the last 10 mins keeping it on our touch line with the last of 3 line outs resulting in a try for the home side.
Half time.
We started the second half the same way we started the first, lots of good play resulting in some good runs, with only the hard tackling of the Woodham boys stoping us from scoring.
Our second try came when we won the ball and Carl Sullivan made a fantastic run down the left and scored with Jack Evans once more converting for more points.
We seemed to let it slip for about 5 mins and during this time Woodham scored their second try. The boys were really good, they didn't let there heads go down and gatherd themselves for another push. This came from another great run by Jack Swann, with once again Jack Evans getting the extra 2 points.
On a roll now the team really took it to them with 2 more trys from Jay Love and Greg. All in all a very good day for Canvey and they have put the defeat at Barking firmly behind them. Jack Swann was picked as man of the match, a well earned acolade.
