Fantastic weather new shorts and a big crowd, what more could the team whant!
Well the game got under way with Martin as ref. From the start Upper Clapton looked good with the ball and were the first to score to which they added another shortly after. Canvey then had some good possession wich led to pressure on Upper Claptons line. Canvey then lost the ball wich led to a long kick and Upper Clapton scored again.
Kev fired the boys up for the second half and they came out all guns blazing. 3 times Canvey had the ball over the line, but only some fantastic defending from Upper Clapton keeping the ball up every time, stoped Canvey from scoring. Upper Clapton scored 2 more trys before the ball came out to captain Carl who then completed a great run putting the ball down between the posts, with Jack Evens kicking for another 2 points.
Not sure what the problem was today, 1 or 2 players out of position maybe, several players injured maybe, but no excuses! Canvey will get over this and return to winning ways. A big mention to Pat who was man of the match.
